The company focuses on the production of technical synthetic specialty fibers for applications in specialty papers, filtration media, batteries and functional materials for the aviation and automotive sectors.

EFS has its roots in the global chemical company DuPont, founded in 1802, and is today one of the few remaining European fiber producers. Founded in 1968, the production site in Hamm Uentrop in North Rhine-Westphalia still manufactures synthetic specialty fibers for applications in specialty papers, filtration media, batteries and functional materials as well as for the aviation and automotive sectors.
The fiber business has had an exciting history since then. Following a successful investor process, Engineered Fiber Solutions GmbH was founded on 17.05.2023. On 01.01.2024, all assets and employment relationships associated with the business operations were transferred. By bringing STW Kautzmann GmbH on board as an investor, synergies and expertise from both companies are to be used to further develop and strengthen the market position.
